THE BABY BOOM GENERATION IS FAST APPROACHING RETIREMENT. Here are some smart ideas for making the transition. It is important to plan for retirement, those who do are generally happier with the outcome because they're more in charge. When my husband, Pat, and I decided to move to Michigan full time from Chicago, where we both lived all our lives, we first anticipated all issues and began to deal w/them rather than just sit back. We considered financial issues, goals and how we would spend our time. We are by no means retired yet but the earlier you start planning the better.
