THE BABY BOOM GENERATION IS FAST APPROACHING RETIREMENT. Here are some smart ideas for making the transition. It is important to plan for retirement, those who do are generally happier with the outcome because they're more in charge. When my husband, Pat, and I decided to move to Michigan full time from Chicago, where we both lived all our lives, we first anticipated all issues and began to deal w/them rather than just sit back. We considered financial issues, goals and how we would spend our time. We are by no means retired yet but the earlier you start planning the better. Develop a financial plan & have a contingency plan that covers what to do if someone gets sick. Have candid conversations about where & when you'll be retiring. Is it best to test-drive a new retirement location? Absolutely! Go and rent a place and do so in the worst season. If you're happy, your move will be a piece of cake, though you also need to see how open a community is. Saugatuck Center for the Arts, the galleries, restaurants, boating, golfing & by the way, it is absolutely beautiful in the winter! I love the water & to live along these beautiful beaches of Saugatuck/Douglas along Lake Michigan, is a dream come true! THIS IS WHERE I COME IN TO HELP WITH YOUR DECISION ! |

Outdoor spaces enhance a home’s value and bring joy to our lives. What we hear, we forget. What we see, we remember. And what we do, we understand. Although those thoughts date back 2,300 years, the principle rings true today. People want happiness in their lives, and a great landscape can deliver that.
